Are Shingles Contagious?
Shingles disease or Herpes Zoster outbreaks is a viral infection caused by the same virus (varicella zoster) that causes chickenpox.
Are shingles contagious? If somebody had already chicken pox shingles can't be transmitted to them. The shingles contagious stage is actually when the blisters carry fluid with the virus in the fluid. A this point you should avoid contact with persons that never had chicken pox.
Shingles is contagious if one never had chicken pox and comes in direct contact with somebody having developed fresh blisters.
The main cause for a reactivated shingles rash outbreak is a weak immune system.
